FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin Farmer with Retail Coach came to Carroll on Monday February 22nd and Tuesday February 23rd to present retail data to the City Council, boards and local businesses. Retail Coach is being used in an investment effort to grow and bring economic development to the Carroll area. Jim Auen, President of Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) said, “The CADC and City of Carroll are accumulating great interest in retail and seeing it grow. Retail Coach will help us take a proactive approach in helping existing and future retail businesses in the Carroll area. They will help us tell our story on why we are a retail hub and will continue to be in the future using data and economic impact information.”

During meetings Austin was able to show data and the positive opportunities for economic growth for new and existing businesses, including demographics and retail demand analysis. Steph Hackfort, owner of Toploft Clothing said, “It was beneficial to hear outside ideas and perspectives from an expert, as well as see data and opportunities for the retailers in the community.” Austin held one-on-one meetings with individual retailers, along with workshops to have group discussions on opportunities with businesses from downtown Carroll and along the Highway 30 Corridor. Beth Glynn, owner of Mrs. Glynn and Co. said, “As a small business owner, I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow. I enjoyed having the opportunity to meet with Austin. His insights helped me to see the potential for our business and other businesses in our community as well. That’s really exciting to me.”

Austin will be returning to Carroll to continue to have discussions with retailers and present opportunities in the second quarter as the work and process continues. “Austin’s time spent in Carroll to gather and present data about the potential growth of Carroll was well received. He visited area businesses to help gather information. Please continue to welcome him and take advantage of the data and opportunities this work is bringing forward,” stated Tim Gute, President of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce.
