In the second year of its grant program, Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) is continuing to invest in area businesses with two different grant initiatives for businesses and business startups throughout Carroll County. In late June, award letters were sent out to those who were selected by the committee to be a recipient. “Small- and medium-size businesses are so important to our communities throughout Carroll County. Continuing to offer these grants is just a small way we are able to give back, help our communities, and increase the investment and development taking place,” stated Kimberly Tiefenthaler, Executive Director for CCGP.

Micro Facade Grant

The $10,000 Micro Façade Grant Program is designed to award $1,000 grants to ten (10) different businesses to help with façade improvements. Paint, windows, signage, doors, construction, masonry, and materials needed for the project all qualify for Micro Façade Grant funds. A total of seven (7) applicants were received and six (6) were selected. Due to the limited number of applicants, a second grant application window will open October 1st and close October 31st in order to award the remaining four (4) Micro Façade Grants. Applications can be found on our website at www.carrollareadev.com. Please call the Carroll Chamber at 712-792-4383 with any questions. Applicants are required to be a for-profit business, have a brick and mortar location, and commit to a minimum of a 25% match of the total project cost. According to the guidelines, a minimum of three of the ten grants must be awarded to businesses in other communities outside the City of Carroll. Tiefenthaler added, “The first round of applicants we received had great ideas, and we are excited to see the impact these façade improvements have on so communities throughout the county. Congratulations to those selected, and we look forward to receiving the second-round applications!” The following businesses have been selected and will be awarded the Micro Façade Grant according to the grant guidelines.

The funds can be used for construction, land/building acquisition, major renovation and repair, site development, engineering and planning, materials, equipment and supplies, marketing, legal fees, and e-commerce.

A total of eight (8) applicants were received and four (4) were selected. This grant also requires a minimum of a 25% match of the total project cost, and for the business to be a for-profit brick and mortar. “There are many great business startups and expansion projects taking place throughout the county. We are privileged to be able to help with these four businesses we selected this year,” added Tiefenthaler. This grant requires at least one (1) recipient to be located in a community outside the City of Carroll.
