Matt Meiners, Economic Development & Government Affairs Director, is a Templeton, IA native and 2012 graduate from Kuemper Catholic High School. After, he went on to Buena Vista University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree where he majored in Political Science and minored in Public Administration. In 2017 Matt earned his Master of Arts in public policy while he worked on Capitol Hill. During his tenure in Washington D.C. he worked on agriculture (2018 Farm Bill), conservation, trade, energy, finance, tax, transportation, and infrastructure policy. Later, he returned to his alma mater, Buena Vista University, where he served as the first Director of the Institute of Agriculture, Food, and Resource Management.

Currently, Matt still serves as an adjunct faculty member at Buena Vista University where his appointment is in the Herold Walter Siebens School of Business and teaches Agriculture Policy and Regulation. Full time, Matt serves as the Economic Development & Government Affairs Director at Carroll County Growth Partnership and works on the Retail Coach project, economic development, workforce, BRE, housing, legislative issues and more. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, golfing, and working on his family’s farm near Templeton.
