Why do I believe in Carroll County Growth Partnersip?

CCGP has long been a forum for community leaders from various disciplines around the county to gather and plan for the future of Carroll County. CCGP members have a tradition to be forward-thinking, and will use their personal and professional wealth and connections to the benefit of their fellow citizens in the county. Many members have a long tenure on the board, but there is a healthy mix of generations that keeps the organization relevant. We must work together beyond community boundaries to plan for an create a strong future; CCGP is the vehicle through which this can happen.

Why did you want to serve on the board of CCGP?

Prior to joining the board (could it really have been 25 years ago?), I had the opportunity to work with many active CCGP board members on a variety of projects, from large economic development projects and business financing to recreation initiatives and historic preservation. CCGP was the heartbeat of the progressiveness for which the Carroll area is known, and the energy and dedication of these members was contagious. I welcomed an opportunity to work with them as a fellow board member.

Why do I love to live and work in Carroll County?

As you would expect, it isn’t just the county for me but being a resident of the region. I grew up and lived in cities until I moved to Carroll for work. I did not expect I would ever consider this area home, but have been pleasantly surprised to find our patchwork of cities and towns consist of residents passionate about their communities who seek to build a future for themselves and their neighbors (with some healthy competition to make us all strive to be our best). In our region, we are close enough to urban centers to partake in their amenities (airports, museums, recreation, events, etc.), but far enough removed that we can sustain a distinct economy, carve out our own success, and enjoy an easier existence (e.g. commute, safe communities, service).
