St. Anthony Regional Hospital was founded in 1905 by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The hospital is a 99-bed facility that serves approximately 40 west central Iowa communities, providing high quality, comprehensive medical services. Connected to the hospital is a 79-bed intermediate-care nursing home with a new 18 unit Alzheimer's facility and adult day care services. The hospital marked their 100th Anniversary in  January 2005.  They also celebrated a new addition along with improvements that will provide a state-of-the-art intensive care unit and all private patient rooms.

McFarland Clinic P.C. has two locations in Carroll one is connected to St. Anthony Regional Hospital the other office is located on Hwy 30 East. McFarland clinic are physician-owned multi-specialty clinic serving 17 Iowa communities including Carroll. The clinics provides family medicine, adult medicine, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology, podiatry, physical therapy/sports medicine and surgery.

Family Specialty Medical Center, P.C. has worked to create a team of health care professionals who focus on the patients' entire well being. The center has Chiropractors, Medical Doctors, Rehabilitation Specialists, a Physical Therapist, a Massage Therapist, an Acupuncturist, and an Athletic Trainer. In addition, Neurology Testing Services are also offered to patients.

Carroll Health Center/Westwood Knolls is an intermediate-care facility licensed for 120 beds. The nursing home is partnered with Westwood Knolls Retirement Apartments, an independent-living center with 28 units.

CLC - Carroll is an intermediate-care and licensed skilled care facility. They offer 33 beds for intermediate-care and 16 skilled care beds. As a licensed skilled care facility, CLC can focus on rehabilitation for patients to help them return to their own homes.

Swan House is a certified assisted living complex. It is a 35-bed facility with studio and one-bedroom apartments available along with nursing services and the availability of a 24-hour staff. .

Health Professionals
Nine dentists have offices in Carroll. We also have clinics in orthodontics, oral surgery and periodontics. The community is served by eight chiropractors, five optometrists, one ophthalmologist, two podiatrists and an audiologist. In addition there are 11 outpatient clinics in the area.

Carroll County Ambulance
Carroll has a fully staffed around-the-clock emergency medical team, including a full-time county operated ambulance service staffed by paramedics.
